AI Search Readiness: AEO, GEO and Agent Readiness — Guide
Quick answer: AI search readiness is the work of making a business easy for AI answer systems to find, understand, verify and act on. It is not a single file or a citation guarantee. It is a diagnostic and implementation path.
Three questions
- Can an AI system find and read the page? Access, structure and machine readability.
- Can it understand and trust the answer? Entity clarity, evidence, sources and corroboration.
- Can it complete the next step? Contact, booking, checkout or comparison.
AEO, GEO and SEO are different jobs
| Discipline | What it tries to win | What it does not guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| SEO | A page ranks in a list of results | That the page is selected as the answer |
| AEO | The brand is selected as the direct answer | That the answer cites the brand |
| GEO | The brand is cited as a source in a generated answer | That the citation is positive, stable or exclusive |
| Agent readiness | An AI agent can complete a task | That the agent will choose your business |
What we review
- AI agent access: can the page be reached, and is the content readable without a struggle?
- Semantic sections: does each section answer one question on its own?
- Entity corroboration: do your site, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, Toptal and author bios tell the same story?
- Evidence: are claims dated, sourced and limited?
- Citation readiness: is there a quick answer, a table, a source and a stable URL?
- Agent readiness: is there a public, permissioned contact, booking or checkout path?
- Information density: does each paragraph add a fact, a number, a limit or a source?
The six-question review
- Can an AI system access the page?
- Can it extract a complete answer?
- Is the entity unambiguous?
- Is the evidence verifiable?
- Is the brand corroborated elsewhere?
- Can an agent complete the next step?
What we do not promise
- No guaranteed AI citation.
- No “llms.txt is a ranking factor.”
- No “actions.json is a standard.”
- No “vector database optimisation” for a normal website.
- No universal information-density score.
- No paid dofollow or link buying.

Frequently asked questions
Is AEO the same as SEO?
No. SEO competes for a position in a list. AEO competes to be selected as the answer. They share foundations, but the unit of competition is different.
Can you guarantee an AI citation?
No. Citations depend on retrieval, source selection, query wording, model, location and date. We measure the gap and repair the page; we do not control the answer.
Do I need an AI Search Readiness audit before a repair?
Not always, but it helps. The audit shows whether the problem is access, structure, entity, evidence, citation or action. The repair pack then matches the finding.
Does Command include implementation?
No. Command is an audit. Repair, Rebuild, Overhaul and Content Refresh are separate implementation packs.
